Technologies- Digital Technologies

It is by implementing this resource that you will be able to promote students learning and assessment understanding of the content descriptors:

Knowledge and understanding

  • “examine the main components of common digital systems and how they may connect together to form networks to transmit data’’ (ACTDIK014)

Process and skills

  • “Implement digital solutions as simple visual programs involving branching, iteration (repetition), and user input" (ACTDIP020)

It is also through participation in this WebQuest that students will be able to develop wide range of understandings in relation to the curriculum:

Technology Key Ideas

By addressing the content descriptors and engaging students in technology learning the resource is able to meet the expectation of multiple key ideas including:

  • Design Thinking- With the creation of their own Scratch design students will need to apply design thinking in order to plan and produce a presentation that meets design needs.

  • Project Management – Student will have to manage their assessment progression ensuring successful completion through planning, organising and monitoring timelines, activities and the use of resources.

General Capabilities

  • Numeracy- Numeracy skills and abilities will be practiced during students’ engagement with scratch applying their understanding of number, graphs, and timing in order to achieve a design solution.

  • Literacy- Throughout the WebQuest, students will engage and practice their literacy skills including reading, listening and viewing in order to gain information.

  • Critical and creative thinking- Students will utilise critical and creative thinking skills to respond to the challenge of developing their own Scratch presentation.

  • Information and Communication Technology – Students will apply knowledge and skills involved with ICT to effectively utilise digital systems and design programs in order to create their Scratch presentation.
